Kerry Wood Sploogefest Thread

I was at the yard yesterday, and mentioned to my wife as Kerry came in that closers entering to hair metal has become a little tiresome in my opinion.  I suggested that Kerry request dixieland jazz, or a Celine Dion ballad...you know, just to fuck with people. 

I was thinking Limp Bizkit, since Wood looks like Fred Durst anyway.

The one thing I've noticed about Woody is how he just gets the ball and throws it. No screwin' around between pitches, taking deep breaths, walking around the mound, and getting all dramatic like most closers. I think he just wants to come in, slam the door, and go home.

BTW, this lady was also at the game yesterday.  You know, the gal who is so serious about her scorekeeping that the eraser at the end of her Cubs pencil just won't suffice. 

That's right...that's an eraser tucked under her hat.

There was also this cat about three rows in front of me taping most of the game action with his handheld camcorder.   Because, you know, that's much better than setting your VCR or DVR and having to deal with WGN's shitty high-def footage and multiple camera angles.

I noticed that yesterday. Wood got in there, threw strikes, and got the save. I'm so used to the Dumpster high wire act, it was refreshing to see the closer not fuck around.

I noticed that yesterday. Wood got in there, threw strikes, and got the save. I'm so used to the Dumpster high wire act, it was refreshing to see the closer not fuck around.

I also noticed that Soto looked like he was in a real hurry to get the ball back to Wood (even seemed to be rushing the ump a bit after a foul ball).  Maybe Wood's intro music should be the minute waltz.
