New We Were Promised Jetpacks album is worth a long listen.

I had tickets for them a few weeks ago at the Paradiso (the small room, there, too - one of my favourite venues), and then found out that it had been moved to the Bitterzoet (which is absolutely my favourite venue), and then found out I was double booked and couldn't get out of my other commitment.  And then I was Gutted.

You could have just gone to the Eagle the next week.

You could have just learned how to post on here. It's not like you do it every 5 minutes or anything

Jesus.  We're even batching Forkjokes now?  Can we just close this messageboard down?  It's been (very, very nearly) ten years.  This post seems like a reasonable place to just stop now.

Seriously, you should have gone to see the show.

I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

I'm probably late to the party (since it appears he's had a solo career of 14 years, plus the 8 years in a band before that), but I'm enjoying Mike Doughty

Time to replace "Go Cubs Go!"

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-0116-cubs-song-20150115-story.html

The song is shit, but at least it keeps some dough heading into Goodman's family.

Talked about this a lot recently but the newest TV on the Radio album is incredible. Return to form, if you will.

I know he's been talked about in the shoutbox, but doesn't appear to be here. If you like old-school country, Sturgill Simpson is teh balls

If you like funk or Steely Dan or music you'll probably enjoy Vulfpeck.

Here's a YouTube link to their album Fugue State. It's honestly one of, if not the, best things I've heard this year.

The new Desaparecidos album is crazy good. I don't really like Conor Oberst (ok, I think Bright Eyes is unlistenable) but this is a straight ahead fun rock album that if you like anything toe-tapping, steering-wheel slapping, and loud you'll really like this.

I really like that.  I think I'm just going to let you choose all the music I listen to from now on.

Hmm... your first time as my official music supplier and you've dropped the ball a little bit.  That's verging on R&B, and I prefer my funk a little more funkeh.  It's okay, I'm not giving up you yet, but you need to tweak your algorithm.
