Rock Band: Pearl Jam?

My friend sent me this email - very, very cool. I would kill someone for this game. Make it work video game dorks.

Bought a 1600 point card last night for more songs and still need to pick up Ten.  Maybe that happens today.

If you like fun, I'd recommend it.

I had to opt for the Grateful Dead Pack 2 to finish that stuff out (I think they still have one more coming though), The Bowie Pack, and the two new Allmans Songs.  There's so much I still need to grab.  Damn you Harmonix for coming out with too many good choices.

2 Allmans songs? That's about 45 minutes.

Hehe.  I was trying to play Blue Sky on hard last night.  The solo just killed me.

Pretty much all the "southern rock" songs on that game are murder. Try that Outlaws song, Green Grass and High Tides on hard. It's a 10 minute pair of solos.

I'm just trying to step up to hard level on guitar and bass.  I can get through all the songs I've tried so far on bass (the Phil Lesh shit on the Dead songs can get pretty tricky), but guitar is a whole other beast.  I love that I can't get through these songs yet I can play the bulk of them on a real guitar no problem.

A Rock Band band?  Only if we have a perverted name that in some way references the vagina.  So far I've got Dookie Cooter and Dër Fürbergër.

Even though you know I can dominate like 8 chords and possibly some barre chords, you didn't invite me? Goddamn you.

I also can run through a mean ass G Major scale.

You're in! We can have as many guitar players as we want.

Now we just need a drummer. I bet I could rig up a mic to TDubb's forehead and he could hit it with a mallet.

I've tried to bring The Rape Closet to the top of the leaderboards, but oddly enough, Xbox Live doesn't approve of that name.

I used to be there. I used to play on Medium only (guitar/bass). Now, I've progressed to a point where I can play 99.9% of the songs on Hard-Guitar (Visions, being the exception) and about 90% on Expert-Bass. I can hold my own on a good chunk of the expert songs on guitar but I need to make sure I have overdrive for some of the solos.

Drums. Well fuck that instrument. Any song on Medium is a bitch for me.

I pretty much only played drums on the first Rock Band, and was able to do every song on Hard except for "Run to the Hills."  I started playing on Expert and could get through most of the songs until you get to the extremely difficult ones.  Guitar, on the other hand, I've had some trouble with.  For some reason I've found Guitar Hero easier to play, even though it's supposed to be more difficult than Rock Band guitar.

You're the best

AROUND!

Hehe.  I've got drums down on medium and need to try stepping up to hard on 'em.  It's easy to get above 90% at least and usually I'd get higher if it weren't for some hits not registering.  The drums are too much fun and I really want to get that damn Ion Drum Rocker thing or make a custom kit with mesh pads for the Mad Catz portable set I have now.  I think this weekend I'm going to try making the custom stomp boxes for the guitar and bass for overdrive.  I already disconnected the tilt sensor since it sucks but hitting the back button can be a bit tricky when trying to play the songs on hard.

I can never get 100% on drums because they don't register correctly.  Sometimes it'll register one hit as a double, and sometimes it won't even register at all.  It's annoying, but usually only screws me up for one note every-so-often.  My old roommate's dog chewed up my drumsticks that came with the game, so I bought a new pair that are a bit bigger and heavier than the stock ones.  If you feel like a nerd just playing the game, try going into Guitar Center to buy new drumsticks for it.  Talk about shame.

Well if you didn't walk into the store wearing your Rock Band Hot Topic Tee and asking the "drum tech" which sticks will help your score on Red Barchetta you probably wouldn't have any problem.
