BTW - quick show of hands.  So how many of you have ratted out any neighbors, co-workers, family members, etc. who oppose government run health care to the White House?  C'mon we know you have, don't be afraid to admit it!
So does this mean you're a dumbass as well?

So, Sarah Palin has gone off the deep end.  How can people seriously believe this ... let's call it what it is ... bullshit?

QuoteThe America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama's "death panel" so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their "level of productivity in society," whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Fear the Obama Death Panels!!!

Was this before or after berating the LIBRUL MEDIA for exploiting her family?

As a Democrat, I love me some Sarah Palin...damn, she makes it easy.

You convinced me.  A man who graduated from Harvard Law and Columbia University, who taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago, and who duped a country into voting for an illegal alien non-citizen in a conspiracy dating back to the very day of his birth is clearly less intelligent than the woman who believes that death panels are out for her baby, who reads "all the newspapers" yet cannot name a single one, can see Russia from her house, quit her job to avoid a lame duck period that hadn't even begun yet, and went to five different colleges and universities.

And since you are relatively new around here, I'd like to ask what your position on President Bush's warrant-less wiretapping and data mining operations is?

She never said that.  The "can see Russia from my house" was an SNL/Tina Fey phrase.

That said, Palin did claim foreigh policy experience because Putin "head was at" flying over Alaska when he flew to the US.

This is a woman who wanted to be an ESPN anchor and possibly named her kid Bristol, in anticipation.  That is, if you can figure out through her various stories of what the name source really is.

The woman is an ad for "Dumbshit America."  That voting people, not pundits who see her as a figurehead to control, real voting people think she can be President really makes you question their intellectual faculties.

I think when she talked about "Putin rearing his head," she meant figuratively. The Alaska Air National Guard has scrambled to escort some of "Putin's planes," not necessarily the planes he was flying in.

http://www.176wg.ang.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123091720

QuoteThe 176th Air Control Squadron maintained North American air sovereignty by detecting, monitoring and escorting 22 Russian bombers from within its area of operations. The Wing continued to provide community support, maintaining the 51-year Operation Santa Claus tradition of delivering Christmas gifts to remote Alaska villages.

As for the health care issue, her rhetoric might be incendiary, but I think it comes from this feature on Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Rahm.

QuoteSavings, he writes, will require changing how doctors think about their patients: Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath too seriously, "as an imperative to do everything for the patient regardless of the cost or effects on others" (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 18, 2008).

Yes, that's what patients want their doctors to do. But Emanuel wants doctors to look beyond the needs of their patients and consider social justice, such as whether the money could be better spent on somebody else.

Many doctors are horrified by this notion; they'll tell you that a doctor's job is to achieve social justice one patient at a time.

Emanuel, however, believes that "communitarianism" should guide decisions on who gets care. He says medical care should be reserved for the non-disabled, not given to those "who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens . . . An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia" (Hastings Center Report, Nov.-Dec. '96).

Translation: Don't give much care to a grandmother with Parkinson's or a child with cerebral palsy.

He explicitly defends discrimination against older patients: "Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years" (Lancet, Jan. 31).

Ezekial Emanuel has the ear of the president, I suppose, but the bigger issue should be that there is no way you can convince me that a government bureaucrat is going to reject fewer claims than an insurance company.

You have more faith in a person who owns stock, the value of which is based on the profit of the company said person works for, said profitability determined by the number of claims paid?

Under single payer health care, a huge bureaucracy will review, accept, and deny claims.  How that is different than what we have is beyond me.

I'm not in favor of single payer.  But the arguments that it's worse than what we have now are unconvincing.  Strikes me as change for the sake of change.
