I am thinking, however, of acquiring this new slim XBox, but it remains to be seen.

Halo?  That's seriously the best exclusive you can come up with?  I'd take one Dead Rising over all the Halos in the world.  Plus, what everyone else said.  I own both and, even with The Show and both Uncharteds, I barely touch the PS3 for gaming.

Well, I don't really play Dead Rising.  So, the PS3 works just fine for me and my baseball needs.  Since the Call of Duties are multiplatform, the PS3 and blueray are wins for me.

So I keep getting "Play DVD" when I pop a game in and dirty disc errors for brand new games. I guess it could be the games (the Play DVD is specific to FIFA 10) but I think my XBox is dying a slow death.

Anyone know my best bet to get a cheap one? I don't care if it's the old version. If there's a price drop coming on it because of the new one I'd like to know. I have a 120 GB hard drive so I'd probably only need the Arcade version.

If you already have the hard drive, your cheapest option is to probably get an Arcade model on ebay.  They don't come with a hard drive, but seems as though you know that already.  When my 360 broke, I snooped around ebay and saw many Arcade models selling for near $100.

I'm not going to replace it unless it's incessant. Usually it fixes with a quick restart. It's certainly not getting any better though.

Slak, you could always sell your machine on ebay or get GameStop to buy it from you and put that towards an Arcade if you really feel it'll die.  You might want to act quick though.  GameStop doesn't buy back broken 360s.  I was able to sell my console on ebay after it died.  I want to say I got north of $50 for it.
