I don't mind losing at the game.  In fact, that makes it fun to play.  It sucks to lose, but it's even more fun to come from an 8-game losing streak and rattle of five straight series wins to right the ship.

You're the anti-Weebs!

Well, it's true.  I don't want to win every single game.  What's the point of playing through a Franchise if I'm going to ultimately end up 140-22?  It makes the game way less fun to play if there's no reason to play it.

I couldn't agree more.  Again, another reason why I love MVP NCAA so much is that I did get beaten regularly.  If the pitching was harder, it would have been even more challenging.

I only played MVP NCAA once.  I don't remember much from it, but it was hella cool to play college baseball on a console.

My biggest gripes are that games end 22-4 or games end 1-0 w/ 3 hits.  It seems to be extremes.  And without major tweakage, computer pitching stamina is overboard because they rarely ever walk anyone.

Bingo.  The games aren't very "real" feeling.

I had the first installment - it doesn't work on the 360 does it?

First and only.  They made 2007 only for the PS2 because apparently they cut half their staff.  2007 actually did the 2K8 pitching mechanic before 2K8 did it.  And, unfortunately, 2006 doesn't work on the 360.  It's the only reason I keep my old Xbox around.

And ADC hit it on the head.  It was feast or famine when it came to the hitting in 2K8.  I think the main reason for that is because to make the game difficult, you had to crank up pitch speed, but then it was impossible to distinguish balls from strikes, so you basically just had to swing.  Once you got the timing down, it was home run city.  It also didn't help that the goddamn strike zone was the size of a barn.

They got rid of Joe Morgan and Jon Miller, though, so the game is instantly better than last year.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I entirely disagree.  Morgan and Miller are perfect for a video game because when they
tell the same asinine stories for 162 games, seem oblivious to player's current performance, and are rarely correct about
the action on the field then it's exactly like them in real life.

I didn't say "more realistic."  I said "better."  2K8 was the only sports game I've ever played in which I turned off the announcers.
