I think it's new, because it also happened for a game I sold for only 300 points.  I'm guessing maybe after a certain amount of time, when it's confirmed delivered, the points automatically get added.

I would imagine it's because you are a new user.  Once you get a certain
level of feedback it gives you your points right away.  It deducts points from
the person who received the game right away.  They have no real incentive
to not provide feedback.

But this makes me think, couldn't me and you just "trade" a 1000 point game with each other, send an empty box, and get all the points?

a) it randomly matches you to people
b) that's absolutely idiotic.  Person 1 gains 1000 points, person 2
loses 1000 points and a dollar.  I like how instead of not sending
anything at all, your brilliant plan involves sending an empty box
so person 1 loses postage costs also.  I can't wait for version two
of this plan where you sell each other items on ebay and then eat
rat poison.

I completely forgot about the part where the person sending the game loses points.  I should have thought that one through...

No you shouldn't have.  Then I would have missed out on Pre's rat poison eBay scheme entirely.

So Game Crazy is closing 200 stores.  Starting this weekend all stock left in the store will be 30% off and increase in discount each week for three weeks.  They'll pull all the consoles and hot games of course to send to other stores, but there might be some good deals to be had.  Partial list of stores in the link below.

This week, Toys R' Us is having a Buy 2, Get 1 free deal on all video games.  I don't think it covers pre-orders.

Their titles are pretty limited though.  Toys R Us covers all games including Uncharted and Brutal Legend, although I've heard they sold out at almost all of their stores because of it.
