Bioshock 2 is $39.98 at Amazon, plus a $10 credit.  PS3 and 360.

TPD.  Now $24.99 at Gamestop.com, but only for the 360.

Worth it?

I hope so.  I picked it up when it was $39.99 with the $10 credit, but I haven't played it yet.  I can say that the first one was incredible.  (Cue Weebs to tell me how terrible of a first-person shooter it was.)

I think I'm going to download the first one on XBox live and check it out. Would you say they take a long time to play through? Open world or more linear?

Less linear than a Call of Duty, but you're definitely going from point A to point B.  I'd say you can get through it in 10-12 hours, depending on how long it takes you to stare in awe at the scenery.  It's a great game, which you can tell from how much Weebs hates it.  The story and environment are totally worth the playthrough.  I know you mentioned you get creeped out by games (I'm the same way).  Be warned it's probably creepier than Fallout 3.  But nowhere near as creepy as Dead Space (which I still haven't finished).

The story/setting are absolutely incredible, and it can be a creepy game...which is why they absolutely ruined everything by making it play faster than Halo. It should have been a MUCH slower game. I know Rapture is supposed to be a flawed society, but who was the genius that thought giving people the ability to shoot fire, ice and lightning out of their hands in a city at the bottom of the ocean, made of glass was a good idea?  Just give me a pistol, a knife, and let me get scared shitless by some mutated freaks running around a city ruled by Ayn Rand.

Dead Space, on the other hand, was creepy as fuck.  If there was ever a game that required surround sound, that was it.

Depends.  Do you normally rent games?  If you rent, then rent it- beat it and you'll never need to play it again.  It's a fine game, and probably worth $25 if you can sell it again, since you won't need to play it more than once.

Well I downloaded Bioshock the First from the marketplace for 20 bucks. Just getting into it but it's pretty fun so far - definitely holding my interest.

Good call.  It would be great for a rental or a Goozex-ing.  That's exactly how I feel about the Assassin's Creed games.

I do rent - I have a Gamefly subscription. Despite the fact that you never get games in the order you have theme Que'd up it's worth it for those games that you want to beat and then never play again. I currently have Dragon's Age and it's ok but I'm not remotely compelled to play it. I'm going to send it back.

I really wish I liked Dragon Age more than I did.  I should try to give it another shot.

Out of curiosity, how quick is GameFly on turning around games?  I gave it two separate chances a couple of years apart and ended up canceling my subscription both times because it would take over a week from the time I sent back a game until the time I received a new game.  And, like you said, unless you only have one game in your queue, it seems like they NEVER give you what's at the top.

Lego Rock Band is at Amazon for $19.99.  It's a completely pointless concept, but it's like getting a decent, big track pack (which is importable to the other games) for $20.  I feel like the DLC for Rock Band has been terrible lately, so it might be worth a look.  Plus, you get a $5 MP3 credit.

I got Lego RB for Xmas and the game itself was a blast.  Having a bunch more songs added to RB2 is a plus as well.  $20 is a steal for that game.

Gamestop has their bonus 50% on trade-ins (60% w/EDGE card) for at least this weekend, and I think through next week. I just traded in Final Fantasy XIII and Zelda: Spirit Tracks to get a used copy of Alan Wake for $5. If you have a bunch of games to trade in, now is the time to do it.
