Chicago natives, The Regrets, are the punks that dig the Allman Brothers, who like good jams, but can't stand a bunch of hippies. They're naive and oblivious enough to believe that loud guitars, a bottle of Miller High Life, a lot of sweat, and a couple catchy hooks can still save the world. A lack of anything better to do has led to prolific songwriting in a very short time, so you'll never hear the same set twice. So, put on your drinkin' pants and come wallow in The Regrets.

Everyone then went to the bar across the street, which was crowded.  Chuck and I had an interesting conversation about The Cubs in which he suggested that The Cubs need to sign Robinson Cano to a Soriano-like contract (he didn't say that but how else would they get that done?).

Thrill and I were then picked up by Morph and Mrs Morph and checked out The Sleepers at Double Door.  Some band opened for them.

Cubs social media gurus showed up. They were a little asshurt when reminded about Paul Sullivan's Anti-Social Media night.  They were also pretty much on the "Al Yellon Can Fuck Off" page.  Other than that, a lot of beer and popcorn was consumed.

The best part of the Chi Bar was that they were apparently expecting a huge crowd and had this asinine drink ticket system in place. When I went up to the bar for an $8 beer, though, the ticket lady didn't have enough change for my 20, so we had to wait on the bartender. After a wait, he came over and handed her some change, which she handed to me along with my ticket, which I in turn handed to him in exchange for my beer.

A triumph of efficiency.

Lizzie McNeill's was somehow worse.

Probably because it was half-full of Cubs fans. (The other half being roped off for some sort of office party or something.)

Also...

Bruce Miles is apparently literally at Chuck's beck and call. Some guys from the Bleacher Report seemed genuinely excited to meet Chuck. (I asked them why.) And Gordon Wittenmyer is still a chickenshit ginger.

In short: you guys totally missed out.
