If you mistakenly find yourself in those rotten suburbs, Labriola Bakery makes an extremely tasty burger.

This place is about a mile from where I live, so I decided to try it out today.  Excellent recommendation.  They only have one kind of burger, but it's fantastic.  That article wasn't lying about cooking it in a stick of butter.  The fries were also quite tasty.  I've never had Kuma's, so I can't compare the two, but $10 for a burger & fries this good is fine by me.

I helped Huey move a bookshelf, and he paid me with a Five Guys burger & fries.

I got seriously overpaid for my services.

Had a burger and fries from there myself yesterday. The burger is better than I remembered. This place rules.

Moody's Pub in Edgewater. Great burger.

Hamburger Mary's in Andersonville. Great burgers and drag queens.

I was unaware of this (and other) comments.  My bad.

I actually remarked to the missus that we're like, at the "gay Moody's".
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

Coming to Northbrook across a parking lot near me.  Anyone tried it?  In Naperville and Bloomington.

Went there today. Similar to Five Guys, with better fries.

I just got around to posting this, but hey, better late than never, right:

Tonight is the last night (for now, but I'm sure it will be back) for the following promotion at Hackney's: any burger, an order of fries and any beer (draft or bottle) for $10 after 8:00.

And if you don't order an onion loaf and ask for your burger on dark rye, you hate America.

I assume you mean, "...at Hackney's"

I agree that the fries are better, but the burgers aren't nearly as good.

Damn, and I thought I hadn't had better fries than Five Guys. This is intriguing.

I'm sure there will be more analysis in order to formulate a definitive resolution. I thought the burger I had was about as good, but am willing to revisit my findings.

It's odd, but the hot dogs at Meatheads are surprisingly good.  I think I like them better than the burgers.

I wonder if they're just not doing it right in Naperville...

As long as we're on the topic of surprisingly good, best bang for the buck is a burger at Portillo's.

It's not that they're BAD, but I wasn't blown away.  It's also possible that I picked the wrong burger both times.
