Poor Carroll. He coulda been somebody.

I blame the Kennedys. And, by association, Huey.

I'm unable to find the answer - what happened to Carroll? The street, I mean.

It's mostly an alley now, and apparently disused rail right of way.

Here's a look at the remains of it in the heart of Hueyville.

Part of CDOT's latest $15 billion (no, really) Central Area Action Plan appears to be bus rapid transit along this right of way (the Carroll Avenue Transitway) connecting Streeterville to a new West Loop subway running down Clinton.

Mr. Carroll could be relevant again yet!

I try to explain to people what Desipio is all about, but they would have to see this thread themselves to believe it.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

I doubt this thread would add any clarity at all.

Which I suppose is your point.

In L.A.  Had a burger at a joint in the Los Feliz neighborhood last night called Umami Burger.  I had something they called a truffle burger.  They put a truffle glaze on the burger and some other delicious, truffle cheese.  No, I'm not sure what truffle cheese is.

Good clean burger that they undercooked a little, which was fine by me.

The sweet potato fries came with a garlic aoili that was closer to mayo that usual aoili is, but they were awesome, too.

If in LA, I can recommend this joint.
