OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

You'd think National Geographic would get around more.

The Beef and Bison were grass fed, but were the lentils and brown rice grown under humane conditions?

HuffPo links to a terrible slideshow of National Geographic's rankings of the 10 best burgers in America.

I've only had one on the list (In N' Out) but I'm pretty sure this list is awful.

What a load of fucking bollocks.  So, of America's ten best burgers, not one of them is to be found between Albuquerque and New York?  What the fuck does National Geographic know about burgers anyway?  Fucking imbeciles.

That list blows with one exception.  Gott's Roadside (also known as Taylor's Refresher) in St. Helena California is the real deal.  Its a damned tasty burger.

No love for Shake Shack?

I admit it.... I've never been to Shake Shack

I have come to the conclusion that short ribs alone double-ground on the coarse disk of the crank meat grinder are not an optimal approach. Not bad, mind you, and I was afraid they were going to be horrifying, lacking as I do a medium disk, but not optimal.

Burger Boss on North Ave in Elmwood Park is a solid option, a little less expensive than Five Guys for the same quality.

But about 50 yards to the east is Johnnies Beef, which makes this place a one-and-done in my book.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21034942

QuoteHorse DNA has been found in some beef burgers being sold in UK and Irish supermarkets, the Republic of Ireland's food safety authority (FSAI) has said.

The FSAI said the meat came from two processing plants in Ireland, Liffey Meats and Silvercrest Foods, and the Dalepak Hambleton plant in Yorkshire.

It said they posed no health risk.
