I think that may be my favorite scene in the movie.  It's the one time in the movie, if I'm not mistaken, that Jake takes his shades off.  Then to dump Carrie Fisher right after the kiss and for Elwood to step over her, politely nod his head and tell her to "take it easy" makes that whole scene perfect.
