Identify the two players listed (all numbers are from 2005 to 2013):

Player 1: 5106 PAs, 1248 Hits, 263 HRs, 141 SBs, .827 OPS, 2373 TBs.

Player 2: 5550 PAs, 1574 Hits, 198 HRs, 37 SBs, .858 OPS, 2578 TBs.

Player 1: Soriano
Player 2: Cano

Not really sure what this proves, though. Cano plays 2B -- a position where you're hard pressed to find 25 HR hitters so his offensive output is more valuable due to the greater opportunity cost. Left-fielders who hit 25 HRs/year practically do grow on trees. He's also 7 years younger. Not that I want to sign the guy...

Player 1... Fangraphs WAR: 26.1, B-R WAR: 15.4

Player 2... Fangraphs WAR: 42.5, B-R WAR: 35.0

The difference is mostly down to position.

Considering how Baez is starting to crucify Southern League pitching, I think the role of Expensive Second Baseman will be played by Starlin Castro soon enough.

I just think it's interesting that Chuck advocates for Cano so much, yet the offensive production (side by side) is pretty similar, even when Soriano was in his 30s. Yes, the positional difference is there, but does Cano play 2B when he's in his 30s and does he maintain offensive output, or does it regress to where Chuck would (if this signing actually happened) bitch about it?

Shut her down. TJ wins.

Meh. Common knowledge that I hated Harry "Battleaxe" Steinfeldt on the 08 Cubs.  Fucker was such an ass they left him out of the poem.

Were 6-5-4-3 Triple Plays common in the aughts?
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Tinker sucked in 1906 compared to Steinfeldt.  OPS+ of 77 and 4.1 WAR compared to Steinfeldt's 151 and 7.0 WAR!

CHANGE THE POEM!  STEINFELDT TO EVERS TO CHANCE!
