If he had been hitting second all year, nobody would care that he hasn't had any power.  Of course, it would take Lou the better part of the first half to finally get Soriano out of the leadoff spot and realize OBP at the top of the order leads to more runs.  Too bad he's already forgotten that and put Theriot at leadoff.  The bottom of the order has been terrible all year.  There's no reason to remove your second best OBP guy (Fukudome) from the leadoff spot just to maybe get more production from the 5-8.  Put him back at leadoff, bunch up your quality hitters and try to get as many runs as you can each game from 1-4.

I think Bradley hitting fifth in this lineup was predicated on his .563 SLG and 163 OPS+ last year with Texas, even though they are deviant from his career norms of .452 and 117.  I can't hardly fault Lou too much for that, but I do fault him for waiting this long to move him up to second.

I agree with Fukudome over Theriot in the leadoff spot, though.  In fact, I heart it completely.  If only Geo were alive to help out the middle of the lineup.
