According to the Seattle Times' Larry Stone, the Cubs have agreed to trade Milton Bradley to the Mariners for right-hander Carlos Silva.

If this is true, and unless the Mariners give us a lot of money, Jim Hendry has officially found the worst possible trade he could have made for Milton.  Forcing Pat Burrell to split time in RF with Kosuke is a better option than this.  They're better off just releasing Bradley.

That's the worst move of Hendry's tenure.  Just awful.  I can't even believe it.

There's even a report that the Cubs will be sending money to Seattle to makeup the $4 million difference.  If there's any truth to that, then Jim Hendry needs to jump off of a very tall structure.  Long live KMB-2010!

The $4 million would be headed to Chicago.  Silva (11.5+11.5+2mil buyout) has a larger deal than Milton (9+12).

The money remaining on both contracts is similar. Bradley has $21 million left on his contract -- $9 million in 2010, $12 million in 2011. Silva has $25 million remaining -- $11.5 million in '10 and '11, with a $2 million buyout on a 2012 option. There is no immediate word if the Cubs will send money in the deal to make up any of the $4 million difference.
