You guys remember Damon Buford's tenure as a Cub? Remember how he went something like 1-56 to start the season?

I remember it because my friend actually picked him up in fantasy at one point because the law of averages suggested that he was likely to go on a mini hot streak. No one's 1 for 63 or whatever bad. We called it the Damon Buford Corollary.

I think the reverse of that is in store for Emilio Bonifacio.

It's been a while since I've had confidence in a Cubs player like I do in Bonerface right now. He's my favorite player in baseball.

I hope when they parade the World Series trophy down Michigan Ave. with prospects they trade Bonerface for helping lead the procession that we remember this torrid streak. Maybe I'll Tweet about it while I'm taking a shit that day and remind you.

Yeah... That's not how regression to the mean works at all. Which is probably why the Cubs released him that May.

I think we are on to something here. A new strategy to gain an advantage. If the cubs trade for every slumping player, we are almost guaranteed a long playoff run when they start heating up the 2nd half of the season into the postseason. I hope Theo reads this site. I'm sure he does.

This season is going to suck some serious hang if the Cubs continue to hit .037 with runners in scoring position.

That's pretty much what they hit all of last year, IIRC.

Look on the bright side, once Bonerface turns back into himself, nobody will every be in scoring position again.
