I'm good with a Coghlan firebarn.  I'm on board, SKO.  Let's hate!

If I can inspire one heart to hate, then I've made a difference in this world.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

In all honesty I even said in my first post about this that I didn't want to firebarn Coghlan, I just didn't expect so much pushback over pointing out that bad player is bad and should play less if possible. You've all forced my fire-barning hand.

Anyway, this 4 gamer with the birds is gonna be nuts. I hope it's hot as fuck in St. Louis and this ends up being the Cubs' national awakening type thing.

Mid-80s all week. Bryant's definitely going to smack his first dong, provided it doesn't get bogged down in the heavy, shit-saturated air.

At higher humidity, balls travel further as air is less dense. http://theweatherprediction.com/habyhints/260/index.html

In my non-hypothetical scenario, the air is saturated by provel-laden feces and not water vapor so good luck finding a study on that.

Also one other possible solution to the Coghlan problem if he keeps sucking is to hope that when La Stella comes back he could play a passable 3rd till whenever/if ever Javy is ready and they could stick Bryant in LF. La Stella is guy whose one talent seems to be getting on base at a pretty good clip, so that'd be a nice guy to stick in the 9 hole.

What the hell ever happened to La Stella? I seem to recall when he went on the DL that they expected he'd be ready to go as soon as he was eligible to come off and now I feel like Huey because I remember that date was April 24th. It's been 10 days. What is Epstink hiding?

I read recently (only a few days ago) that he's been in Arizona running in a pool. I don't know if he's even taking swings yet. I guess that side pull thing was a little more serious than they thought.

No idea, last update that Brett tracked down was that he wasn't even swinging a damn bat yet in Arizona. He was working in the pool or whatever. Much as I LOATHE that sonofabitch Chris Coghlan I'd keep him on the roster over Herrera, but there's no way to get rid of Herrerra until La Stella or Baez is back.

I was with you, but my hatred cooled off when he actually got through an outing without incurring shit stains all over his uniform this weekend.  I'm putting my Coke hatred on hiatus for now...
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Burning barns lower humidity.

What the hell ever happened to La Stella? ....

Hasn't gotten his groove back.
Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

Coghlan batting second today, Denorfia in RF for Soler.

Pretty sure this thread is gettin' a bumpin' later.

Why in God's name would you decide Soler's day off is today? He's finally warming back up? They had a day off on Thursday and it's a night game after a day game. This makes no sense.

The Cubs face a tough RHP in Carlos Martinez tonight and get LHP Tyler Lyons tomorrow...could just be an apt time for a day off.

Martinez's two best pitches are his slider and changeup. That's not a good matchup for Jorge right now. Add that in to the first game of a big series where he might be a bit overeager and it makes sense to me.
