I think he means that doing business the Tribune way meant spending enough money to make things fun and interesting, which kept fannies in the seats. I think he correctly states that the Ricketts aren't about to continue the "Loveable Loser" tradition and are genuinely trying to build from the ground up, which will mean that the Cubs will have good years and bad years and the attendance will reflect that. At least that's what I thought he said, but I was cringing the whole time because I was positive that any article quoting Yellon and calling Harry Caray a "graceless blowhard" was going to more wrong than a thousand Chucks having a debate in the Tron Universe.
