Yeah, I'd wait and see on that.  Not that I don't think Beach could be good, but he's a 20 year old playing against 17 & 18 year olds, and if not for the weird rules that the NHL and the Canadian Junior leagues have set up, he'd have been in the AHL by now.  It's definitely a good sign that he's dominating, but at this point, he SHOULD be dominating in the juniors.

Bump as a reminder that real hockey is back in less than a week but, speaking for myself, my jones has been uber-satisfied by not only how fun the hockey has been in Vancouver but also how well each of the Hawks has fared at the championship level.  Sure, you could be a DOOMersecksual and whine that those 6 guys will all get gassed by collectively playing so deep in the Olympics, but 100% of the Hawk Olympians are playing in the medal round. That's gotta count for something, damn right yay?

Toews on the top defensive line for the Canadians winning about 90% of the board battles was a thing of beauty.

Also, Canada has, what, 8 captains on the team (Toews, Nash, Niedermeyer, Morrow, Crosby, Iginla, Staal and Richards)?  Does that mean anything?  I don't know, it just seems interesting.

By my reckoning, two losses by Finland are all it will take for the Hawks to bring home more Olympic medals than any other team.

The Sharks would still be in line for 5, but the Hawks would edge them out on the back of their mighty Slovak Power.
