Dude, BH was AT THE GAME. His opinion is more valuable than some dope watching slow motion replays in HD. Like when the meatballs call in to the Score after Bears games. "Yeah I was at dat game dere today. And lemme tell ya..." Always a precursor to insightful analysis.

I'm hoping it'll be #87 and the Penguins doing it in the Eastern Conference Finals after the Caps take out the Devils...but if it's a Hawks/Caps series, I'll be rooting for the Hawks pretty much as strongly as I'd root for the Pens.

Alex Ovechkin was suspended for two games without pay by the National Hockey League on Monday for his hit on Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell early in Sunday's game in Chicago that reportedly has ended Campbell's regular season.

NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell ruled that it was a "reckless" hit by Ovechkin, who received a five-minute boarding major and a game misconduct on the play that occurred 12:16 into the first period.

Adding: Colin Campbell's description of the hit as "reckless" seems perfect to me.

There's been a lot of discussion about whether the hit was "dirty" or not, and I don't really think it was (at least insofar as "dirty" suggests deliberate malice). Rather, it was just recklessly and thoughtlessly dangerous.

C'mon Oleg, it's one thing to send Eager out to take a run at a guy who knocked your best defenseman out on a dirty/reckless hit.

But you're just as bad as Ovechkin to want your goon to take a run at a player that doesn't take reckless or dirty runs at opponents and who plays the game the right way.  I think more Hawks fans would want to beat the Penguins with Crosby than without him, but that's me.

Hit being dirty is debatable.  Certainly reckless.  He certainly deserved at least what he got.  He will end up paying for all these hits at some point, and it won't just be a suspension.  It's really too bad; but on some level, he'll get what's coming to him.  Hell, it's probably not too bad.

I couldn't care how how The Hawks beat The Penguins (or any other team) to win the cup; or who may or may not be out on the ice when it happens.

The instant Ovechkin pushed Campbell in the back it went from reckless to dirty. He had stopped skating - if he had simply ridden Campbell into the boards, it would have been 2 for boarding.
