I missed it, but if Uncle Niemi can keep ramping up some strong outings (I assume he played well), that'd be a pleasant addition.

How does another shutout sound to you?

That's what made me assume that he had "played well". 

How many shutouts is that anyway for him?  7?

He nearly single handedly killed a 5 on 3 with three or maybe four spectacular saves in a very short succession. All that after only having faced single digit shots through the first 30 minutes. The guy was on last night.

That 5 on 3 kill was spectacular.  He was just tremendous during that sequence.

Meanwhile, back in Chicago, the gutless assholes beat Calgary and win the division.

Of course they actually won the division when Detroit dropped their game to the Flyers a few minutes before they started, but that's neither here nor there.

We're almost done with the 82 games that are played to eliminate the Oilers, Blue Jackets, Islanders and Maple Leafs.  The Hawks seem to have refound their stride
and Antti Niemi is playing like a money goaltender and not just some Bob Essensa riding sidecar on an awesome team.
