I was in DeKalb for the summer, in that purgatory known as "20 years old" having just lost my wallet--with fake ID--two weeks earlier.  I laid on the floor of my Stadium View II apartment listening to Pat Foley's descriptions of of heartbreaking Barrasso save after heartbreaking Barrasso save in the 1-0 loss.

I was able to sneak into Molly's for the third period of Game 4 and saw Dirk Graham's hatty black beans but I'm still scarred by that fuckhead Barrasso and Game 3 and relying on my imagination to envision the nut punch.

So what are the thoughts on Philly?  My only exposure to them was the Huet meltdown late in the season.  Vidal Sassone seems to think they'll be a tougher challenge than San Jose (because they're deeper).

They lack the Hawks' depth. They had half as many 20 goal scorers as the Hawks during the regular season (3 for the Flyers, 6 for the Hawks), and have 6 scorers in double digits in the playoffs, to the Hawks' 7 (The Hawks also have 2 players with 9 each, and played one less game). Hell, the player everyone's worried about for lack of scoring - Marian Hossa - has 11 points in 16 games.

They're slow as molasses. Leighton is a shitty goalie.

The Hawks will throw bodies in the slot, and move the puck pretty much at will.

Look for VERSTEEG! to have a big series, as the Habs were able to carry the puck through the defenders as if they were pylons. They just lacked the finishers the Hawks have.
