I didn't care for him until his guitar work on Purple Rain. But up until then I thought he was just another MTV artist.

I have always known that I was SUPPOSED to be interested in Prince because basically all of my favorite hip hop artists would lie down in traffic for him. But other than a few songs, I just never got around to it. Appreciate the mastery involved but when I tried to delve in, I found myself wanting to listen to tribe and The Roots instead. Sorry.
