I'm sorry I can't remember where I read this but it's weird how Oswalt spent so much energy (seriously, how long must it have taken to organize an individually numbered set of 53 tweets) defending lame, hacky jokes not worth defending. I read some of his tweets and they come off as really tone-deaf. I guess he's the self-appointed white male 40-something crusader against the evils and horrors of SJW political correctness and privilege-checking without even a hint of irony to gum up the works. Not a good look. Hate on.

I hadn't seen that, but that tweet nails it.

Yeah, I think that's the best summation I've seen of his entire persona.

His Twitter account has turned me from a fairly big fan to someone who might not piss on him if he were on fire.

I thought it about it myself but held off knowing that Somebody would do it either way.

...I still can't figure out why the Cubs gave Bryant a number in the 70s at Spring Training instead of a number they could start putting on merchandise.

Although, last year he wore 77, which looked pretty badass.

Maybe he wore it on purpose instead of giving them a head start on clocking G's off his name.

That, and the same reason they probably won't call him up the first day he is eligible. They want to make this look like it was not a purely service time decision, because while a grievance claim is unlikely and the team would most likely win anyway, it doesn't exactly help for them to say WE ONLY DID THIS BECAUSE OF SERVICE TIME in flashing neon letters.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Okay, but I still want a goddamn Bryant shirsey before I go to Milwaukee in early May. So, WTF, Cubs? Why didn't you think of ME?!

I just spent 15 minutes online looking to see if I could find out what number Kris' dad Mike wore when he played in the Red Sox system or in college.

I've got baseball cards and team pictures, but none that show the number.

I admit I've lost my mind.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

I say either No. 8 or 25, since that's what Troy Glaus wore for most of his career.
