He stole one of my Garfield books, but returned it when I confronted him, said he was just borrowing it as a joke.

To be fair, maybe that was just an indirect way for Pen to admit he owned not just one Garfield book but multiple Garfield books. I guess that's something most people would rather not share publicly.
