... I don't give a flying fuck about Halloween.

I've either greatly underestimated the interest in Halloween by people over the age of 10 or you don't understand how this thread works.

And yet, my FB feed is full of grown-ass adults getting dressed up for it.

You know what?  It never, ever occurred to me to don a costume alongside my kids and my kids never, ever, asked me to, or otherwise pressured me to and, now that you mention it, it does seem pretty imbecilic for adults to wear a costume and go trick-or-treating.  I had never given this any thought before and, now that I have, I agree with Tonker.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

With out a doubt adults getting dressed up to go trick or treating is creepy and lame as fuck.

But getting drunk and going to an adult Halloween party dressed in an inappropriate manner can be a blast.

Goes with the job territory for me. Some teachers go all out. A few years ago, one of our taller, wider teachers came to school dressed in a skin-tight spandex ballerina suit with the words "tooth fairy" on the front. She'd apparently borrowed it from a transsexual friend.

Maybe it's a bigger deal in Australia.

My kids absolutely love Halloween.
When I was a kid, I loved Halloween.

I think it's a fun day and people who don't like it confuse me.
Halloween is a nightmare for us.  My street is a destination for the Bay Area.  It is not an overstatement when I tell you that we get over 2000 people at our door.  We stopped participating when we bought 1500 pieces of candy and would run out by 7:30.  Now we go to a restaurant at around 5 PDT, and try to stay out until after 9.  When we come home we leave all of our houselights out and hunker down in a bedroom at the back of our house.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

Halloween is a holiday that is either the coolest or lamest holiday around, depending on your age, your location, and your plans.

As I've gotten older, I've realized the only holiday that is unequivocally great is Thanksgiving.

I get to experience most of the holidays in double. Thanksgiving is in both October and November, and we have a Christmas with my Canadian family and then we drive down to have it again with my American family. There are perks to immigrating.

You people are awful for hating holidays.
What's wrong with you?
