To be a ray of sunshine for Apex, sometimes great teams need a loss or two like the games Purdue has just had in the middle of the season. The 2005 North Carolina title team, the squad that only beat the best team Illinois has ever had for a national title, had a 13 point loss to Wake Forest on 1/15/05 after winning 13 of 14 games in double digits. After that, their only defeats were a one-pointer to Duke and a 3-point ACC Tournament loss to Georgia Tech*.

* = With quite possibly some of the most dubious officiating I have ever seen. The ACC knew heading into that game that UNC was a lock for a 1 seed while the Jackets were on the bubble for the Tournament...

Thanks! I feel all better now.

I find you literally unbelievable.
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

I quit reading when I reached "Illinois".

That's mean and non-factual. I quit reading when I discovered masturbation and video games. Probably better throw drugs and alcohol in there somewhere, too, just for good measure.

72-64.

Most miserable game I've ever born witness to. Northwestern played well enough to defend its home court* against a Purdue team in crisis offensively. Unless Lewis Jackson can come back, this team is doomed to disappoint, I'm afraid. Fucking shitballs.

Purdue and Illinois face off Tuesday. I don't think either Apex or I are looking forward to this one.

Speaking for the whole board, I know we're all anxiously awaiting the postgame analysis.

Yeah, it must've been tough to watch your team shoot 90% in the 2nd half. Fuck.

I guess that was progression to the mean after shooting 10% for the entirety of a 3-game losing streak. And those were fucking circus shot side of the ass heaves that Illinois was hitting in the final two minutes. Thanks. My fucking heart stopped for 18.4 seconds. I had a talk with my mom while I was dead and she told me to relax, Bob Hummel don't miss free-throws. White boys from Indiana seldom do.

Good night and good luck, octaroons
