"Civilized" people come to a "new world" to collect resources. Natives that the civilized people refer to as "savages" try to defend their home land from the intruders.  An accidental/forbidden romance ensues. The new-comers are far more powerful than the natives and attempt to wipe them out and the aforementioned romance gets in the way.

Tell me this doesn't describe both movies.

It reminded me of pocahontas. It was pretty to look at and cool in 3D, but the plot was familiar and the dialog was predictable. I'd still recommend seeing it in 3D because it was entertaining, at least. Just don't come expecting to take anything away from it.

Wait...what?

I saw the movie yesterday in 3D.  Like everyone said before, the story is predictable.  I'd like to add that it's predictable hippie ho-hum about the Mother Earth and how we make her sad all the time, but holy crap those were some amazing visuals.  That was a really cool thing to see.

This.

Also, in anticipation of DDD-TV, there are going to be a shitload of movies done like this.

Perhaps.  I saw a bunch of the 3D TVs being demo'd last year at a trade show.  You are going to be hard pressed to keep people wearing glasses.  Until they have a non-invasive way of doing this (which is coming), it's going to be fringe technology for the home.

You know how people say "You really need to see it in the theater"?  Well, this is one of those movies.  I probably will never care to see it again, but just seeing it the one time in the theater was worth the buttrape I was charged at the ticket window.  Then again, I like butt stuff.

Yeah, I'm glad I saw in the theater and in 3-D. Might even be willing to watch it again in IMAX if someone else is paying. But I doubt I'd rewatch it on a regular TV.
Take that, Adolf Eyechart.
