OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Dirt 2
« on: January 25, 2010, 12:42:30 PM »
Anyone played this for the Wii, yet?  I don't wanna drop 6 or 7 bucks on a used copy if it's going to suck.  Input would be welcome.
Can you help me live a little more?  I expect good news.

QuoteIt doesn't matter if you're a huge fan of off-road racing, the Wii version of Dirt 2 is best avoided.

The Bad

    * Environments are ugly
    * World Tour mode is too short
    * Opponent AI isn't believable or particularly challenging
    * Multiplayer races aren't much fun.

On the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Dirt 2 is an off-road racing game that's difficult to fault, but sadly, that's not the case on the Wii. There are some great course designs, and there's definitely fun to be had racing on them. That fun is short-lived, though, and the lack of longevity combined with subpar visuals, choppy frame rates, and inconsistent opponent AI make the Wii version of Dirt 2 difficult to recommend.

You probably haven't seen the video game box cover.  For reasons that are very apparent, I highly doubt you even drive a Subaru.  Therefore, you couldn't even "get air" if you wanted to.  Especially with YOUR weight issues.

Thanks, Yeti.  I'll probably not get this now.

That reviewer had it bass-ackward.  This game rocks.  If you like dirt...if you like the number 2...if you like Subarus that "get air"...then, SPOILER ALERT...

you're gonna love this game.

What if you like a combo of all of those things, but not all of those things at once?

Then you should rent it.  It's the gamer equivalent of a little game I like to call "just the tip".  Just try it out for a couple days.  See how it feels.
