Comcast Blows

I hate Comcast.  Constantly having to call to bitch about rate increases to get them to lower it has driven me crazy since I've been in Chicago. Although ATT's website says Uverse isn't supported in my area (wicker park), when I called them they said they could. It's
a ton cheaper than comcast, for more channels, etc.

Just found out with ATTs DVR, you can record 4 shows at a time and can change recordings online.

Anyone in the city using uverse? Thoughts?

I have no information on Chicago, but AT&T U-Verse is a very, very good product.
As someone who has to market a competitor to it, I fear the day AT&T expands its reach into more of the areas I work with.

It sounds amazing but the thought of ripping out all my cable (some of which runs through the wall) and returning all my shit to Comcast, waiting for a new cable guy to show and track dirt all over my house and set up new cable with new channels and all that shit doesn't sound so appealing.

I think I'm also the only person that doesn't hate Comcast. In fact, I kind of like them.

I've never had a problem with them.  I actually liked their cable service better than the UVerse I have right now, mostly because the whole interface is kind of slow.

All it took was RCN to have me miss Comcast.

RCN is fairly reliable (although their customer service is outsourced to lord knows where these days), and has a good channel selection (including Versus although you have to pay 5$/month extra as its in the "extended sports" tier), and uses the same motorola boxes as Comcast.  And you can always "cancel" with Comcast to get them instead.

I also work in a condo high rise that has an exclusive RCN contract. They are abysmally bad at helping our residents.

Comcast in South Bend was absolutely terrible when it came to service.  Out here, it's not so bad.  But it is definitely way too damn expensive.  Come to think of it, I'm due to call and yell at them to lower my rate.
