OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Wow, what a complete FAIL.

Can't decide which I like more: the img tag or http://Comcast.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

OK - AT&T customers, how happy are you guys with U-Verse?

Comcast is making one of my DVRs obsolete, so this would be a good time to switch.

Umm... Doesn't Comcast rent you the DVR?  Wouldn't they simply give you a new one?

No, I bought TiVo boxes. But if I'm going to have to get DVRs from the provider anyway, this would be a good time to switch over.

Comcast in South Bend was absolutely terrible when it came to service.  Out here, it's not so bad.  But it is definitely way too damn expensive.  Come to think of it, I'm due to call and yell at them to lower my rate.

You can yell at them via their chat service now too.

And if you're already at the lowest rate, type/yell at them that you want free HBO. Worked for this homo.

I've never really done anything like this before, because I work in an industry in which people try to haggle price with me and rates are the last thing I have control over.  I don't want to be a pain in the ass, and I really didn't want to ask for a lower price, and then not get it and feel like an ass.

I read this thread (for courage, natch) and gave it a whirl with Comcast (I live in Buffalo Grove) today.  I said that I was wondering if I could do anything to get a comparable rate to what they have advertised online.  The lady on the line said "I can offer you the same package you have right now for $44.99."   That's down from $70.

That was it.  It was a painless 3 minute phone call and now I've got $25 more a month to spend on Oreos.  If a coward like me can do it, then what the fuck are you waiting for?

Anyone have any issues with deleting things on their Comcast DVR? I only have it on one show, but I have a Southland that will not get deleted no matter how many times I press the delete button.

Can you change the program option to have it auto-delete quickly? I've had to do that with TiVo a couple times.

Unplug your DVR for 60 seconds and re-try it.

It's probably Paul Fucking Sullivan's fault.

You know, it was from an episode shortly after I ratted him out and tried to divebomb his career. Dots are-a connectin'

I wouldn't be surprised if this old news for you guys up around Chicago, but I got an email today that I can control my Comcast DVR from the app on my iPhone. I would think they would have an app on the Android phones and possibly Blackberry. So, if you have Comcast and forgot to DVR something before you left the house, don't fret. I figure if I have that capability the rest of the world does.
