Naw, I just would've told you the story about how I had to take my wife to the emergency room last week and we were treated in a couple of hours, while her aunt is in Florida (with travel insurance) and had to go to the emergency room and was there for at least half a day.

Then again, since when is Florida a good representation of the rest of the US?

Your aunt just isn't doing it right.  Emergency room visits work best when you're in urgent
need of care, say with blood pouring from your face.  You get bumped to the front of the
line and get to bleed on everything and they take good care of you.  If someone goes to the
emergency room for something that isn't an emergency, then they should rot on a bench.
If you have a real emergency, then a few hours doesn't mean a fucking thing and you're just
happy they treated you and you didn't die.

Unless you aunt died, in which case I still mean what I said but I offer my condolences and
suggest against going to Florida.

You make a valid point.  She was only vomiting until it gave her seizures, which comparatively is inconsequential to the sort of shit that Florida deals with on an hourly basis.

Well, I'm no doctor.

But are you A doctor?

Hey I didn't even bother to click on the article until now, choosing just to take potshots all this time out of reflex, but holy crap it's entitled "Hey Chase:  FUCK YOU"?

Who the hell is she?

For the record, since we're all relating such riveting and engrossing personal vignettes, I've been with Chase since they were First Chicago here, and in 2002/2003 I left my card in the ATM at the Wacker/Lake/Frankling building (333?).  I didn't have my phone that ensuing weekend and it turns out Chase security had been trying to reach me, noting suspicious activity.  Two $200 charges, one at a K-Mart down by Homewood (I think), and $200 from a Wal-Mart across the street.   When I realized what was going on--again after their prompting--they immediately credited my account.  So not only did they pay me back, but their system had already been tipped off to suspicious activity.  I guess that's Andy's point.  If you're generally not too spendy, your bank will get your back if something's off.  But just inelegantly screaming at Chase like some screeching dingbat works too, I guess.

I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

DPD.

Nice to see one-time vanguard of local righteous moral indignity Dennis Byrne joining the potty mouth brigade.

QuoteMy sympathies for this screwing over. The bailout should never have happened in the first place. Thanks to all the taxpayer money, they could go their merry way, giving out huge bonuses and screwing their customers like this. We keep hearing that we had to do this or else we all would have been sucked into some black hole. Bull shit. If Chase like other companies had to please their customers to stay in business, things like this never would have happened. That's what we get for thinking that government can and should come to the rescue for all our problems.

Bull shit?  Tsk tsk, Dennis.

I have had a long day.  I am too tired to go all the way back to the beginning.  What is this thread supposed to be about?
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

Back in Dec. somebody copied my debit card and lifted about two grand off it in two days.  I caught it before the bank, notified them, and had to wait about a week and a half for them to investigate the expenditure before they refunded me the cash.

Two grand.  Gone for more than a week.  And when they returned it to my checking account, I was reallyfuckinggrateful.  Guess I should have gotten PISSED and blogged about how much the bank -- and their apparently ridiculous policies designed to protect me -- sucks.

I was about to make a joke about Canadian health care, but then I realized you'd probably go batshit crazy and decided not to.

I hereby nominate Kurt Evans for the Hall of Fame of Interweb Contributors Who Are Able to Quickly Make Every Thread They Post in About Them.

I think you're a shoe-in for the first ballot, hoss.

You nominate, you think, can't you think for one second about poor Julie who's going to have to avert starvation by scrounging the cupboards for old packages of raman and expired cat food until she receives her next paycheck?  Christ on a bike!

Kurt, in case you were wondering even the lurkers hate you.

It is appalling that a tiny company like chase with like 40 accounts didn't notice an unrealistic charge at a store she probably shops at all the time to call and ask her about it. With $3500 in her account, she's a big fish. And that they didn't let her know where she lost her wallet. For 24 hours. It's all about money, money, money for these financial institutions. OUR financial institutions, now that OBAMA'S GOONSQUAD bailed them all out!!! Huey's brother should know better. He should have called.

The BAILOUT was the worst thing Obama has done, followed shortly thereafter by his infamous decision that we needed to go to war in Iraq to prevent Saddam from mass-producing WMDs.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

I would have thought you would have photoshopped something about the bank long before writing any sort of blog.

I don't agree that Kurt Evans is a first ballot Hall of Famer when it comes to making every thread about himself.  He's much more multi-versatile than that.  Don't sell him short. He can ruin threads in all sorts of ways.
