So, serious question.  Let's say Starlin Castro really isn't ready, which I'm assuming to be true.  Are the Cubs really going to play Theriot and Baker up the middle?

Yes.

What other options do they have? /Rhetorical question.

Andres Blanco, Mike Fontenot, Luis Rivas, BOBBY SCALES...

Any options that won't make my eyes bleed?

I'll say it...I don't know why they don't sign Felipe Lopez to a 1-year deal.
He's better than any of the internal options at this point and considering he's unsigned on 2/17, he can't be that expensive.

Felipe's numbers aren't that different than O-dog's. He'd definitely be better than what we have.
Issue is that he's rumored to be a "bad clubhouse guy", so no way would Hendry even think about signing him.

Here's a positive for Felipe Lopez:

However, baseball skill is not a positive for him.

Here's where we complain about Ted Lilly's bum flipper and Starlin Castro's devolution into Korey.

I hate Ted Lilly's injury and Starlin's devolution into Korey.

Carrie says outlook good.

Saying he'd like to be ready is a lot different then he thinks he'll be ready.  I read that
as the diplomatic way of saying no way in hell.

I'm pretty upbeat about this year. I really think Jaramillo is going to get Milton going and we'll see a 2008-like year out of him. Redemption time, baby! The best part? Not more Fontenot!

With an ace like Peavy, it's a championship waiting to happen!

I'm looking forward to a career year from leadoff hitter Brian Roberts myself.
Take that, Adolf Eyechart.

The heart of this team is still center fielder Carlos Beltran.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015
