Heavy Rain
« on: February 24, 2010, 10:10:55 AM »
I was in GameStop last night, and the clerk at the shitty store convinced me to get this game. He had long been an Xbox fanboy, like me and recently got the PS3 and after playing this game, he was amazed at what the PS3 is able to do. Basically the game is a big movie, following 4 separate characters. You can't actually lose the game. All of your actions dictate the next events or the ending. The graphics are amazing and it's pretty interesting. The game utilizies a decent amount of the tilt function on the PS3 controller as some actions require that. Anyway, I think this is a good game so far (I'm about an hour in) but I probably am not doing it justice:

I really want to play it, but $60 is too much for an interactive movie when there are so many good games coming out.  Heavy Rain was made by the same guys who did Indigo Prophecy, which again was basically the same game but with far less impressive graphics.  And TDubbs, there are naked chicks and child molesters in it, so even you could be interested in this one.

The guy was telling me about one of the DLCs.. Apparently you play as a blind man and the screen is black but you "feel" your way through the game.. Sounds interesting. Could be a completely letdown, but the concept is cool.

Wait...it's a game you play as a blind dude?  You can't see anything?  This sounds dumb.

That's just some downloadable content. The game itself is not that way. It's just a mode you can try.

Bought it.  Had been looking forward to it for a while.  Between this and Dante's Inferno, my PS3 is going to be running pretty often when I get back to IL.  Now, if I could just finish my work here...
This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

The answer better be "happy".

They all survived. Weebs don't read this if you plan on buying it:

Shelby died at the site but the cop, Dad, and chick survived. Some of the things I did: I cut off my finger with the butcher knife and cauterized it. I banged the chick while I was at my weak, emotional state. I shot the one guy at the house with a bunch of crosses. I didn't realize I could have held off until afterwards.

Shelby died for me too, but Jayden survived, as did the girl and Dad.  I used the axe; quick and relatively painless.  I shot the crucifix guy too, and forgave Madison.

Great game.  Didn't see that ending coming.  I really thought it was Lt. Blake.

This game sounds pretty cool...is it a PS3 exclusive?  If I get a good amount of credick at GameStop when I get The Show, I might consider it.
