The question is: What is this year's buzzword that this mediocre roster was built on?

Help me out here.

2009: Bullpen (or was it Lefthandedness?)
2008: Second basemen
2007: Anybody but Dusty

Is that about right?

2009- Lefthandedness
2008- Fukudome.
2007- Replace Dusty and Throw Money At Everyhing (Soriano, DeRosa, Marquis)
2006- Lead Off and Bullpen (Pierre, Howry, Eyre)
2005- Get Rid of Sosa (And Get Jerry Hairston! Double Bonus)
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Wait until Carlos Silva is 4-0 with a 1.93 ERA at the end of April.

I think it's a bit much to expect us to confine the 2010 Cubs to one thread. I mean each player will have their individual splooge/hate thread, there's of course the typical bullpen complaint thread (that should get a hell of a lot more play this year), the FYC thread (hopefully also getting more play this year), the Gutless Fucking Assholes thread, etc. But what the hell, let it last till Monday when we start creating a thread for every at bat.

2010 - Everything's different, because there's new ownership.  Sure, all the players and management are virtually the same, but really, it's completely different now.

Look!  Rudy Jaramillio!

Umm...I think the title of the thread was answering what 2010 was.

See? This thread already sucks.

Ricketts optimism....waning.

QuoteRicketts said "the most pleasant surprise" he has had is how good the front office and business side is and how well the organization is run.

"With respect to this season being any more important than any other season in their careers, I don't think so. It's a matter of everyone knows they have to perform at a high level every year.

"We really do want a high level performance out of everyone in the organization and we want to make them accountable. (There's) nothing about this year that's any different than years past in terms of how important it is. It will be really enlightening for us -- we'll learn a lot about everybody this year. But so far, so good."
