Last night lactose intolerant Jon Stewart had Mark Malnatti on his show and the two of them called a truce and agreed that California pizza was the worst.  The problem is that there is no such thing.  There is a California Pizza Kitchen, which probably is a corporation headquartered in Delaware.  But they have about 30 varieties of pizza on their menu.  So that couldn't be it.  Oh well, so be it.  Let's move on.  Nothing to see here.

CPK was started in Beverly Hills in 1985 and is now owned by a venture capital group out of San Francisco.

He mentions Chuck E. Cheese and single slices available in strip malls as examples of pizza and proof that it's meh. I think people who don't really care enough to try the best available offering of the food their judging shouldn't be writing articles about food. This is like going to a high school girls game in Buttpuddle and declaring basketball Meh.

Picture this: You coach a T-ball team that has just finished its last game of the season. You're a nice coach, so you decide to treat your team of exhausted 5-year-olds to a celebratory meal. But where? (You've already called Balthazar — they're booked.) (I hate you)

Consider the criteria at work here. What's a food inoffensive to even the most unsophisticated palates? A food that comes in massive quantities because its ingredients are humble? A food that is easily divided into equal parts, satisfying children's obsession with fairness?

Damn, that's a dumb argument.  "Pizza sucks because this idiot I made up thinks it's inoffensive and made of humble ingredients."  No one does that.  You take the kids for pizza because ... they love pizza.  Kids don't say, "Can we have a celebratory meal, please, Coach?"  Instead they ask for pizza because pizza is awesome.
