The rest of the conference has a couple of games in hand and less losses than the Hawks it seems.

Even if you look at points per games played they're actually still in the money at this point...

In the money, sure. I just hope they can keep getting results and put some breathing room in there. I don't expect them to win the division unless Detroit just falls apart (they won't). Second is a must.

Well, Cleary and Datsyuk are both out for the next month, so now's the time.

Mike Modano is out too, but who gives a shit?

And the Wings are away from Detroit for 9 of 14 through the end of January while the Hawks will play 8 of 13 at home.

Of course, 3 of those Detroit road games are at Edmonton, Calgary and Columbus. And they get to host both the Devils and the Islanders, along with the back half of the home-and-home with the Blue Jackets.

Let's be generous and say the Wings somehow manage to go 5-7-2 over that stretch, bringing them to 60 points in 49 games. Over the past 20 games, the Hawks have racked up points at at rate of 1.3 per. Maintaining that pace through the end of January, they'd net 17 points and find themselves at 60 points in 50 games.

Unfortunately, the only bottom-feeders the Hawks will get to see in that stretch are the Islanders, the Wild and the Sens.
Loor and I came acrossks like opatoets.

Please gord, if you have any love in your heart for me, make Jonathan Toews injury superficial at best.

In fact, feel free to take Tomas Kopecky's life in exchange if need be.

That's a bit strong. I mean he's blessed you with a Stanley Cup, a second round bye and at least two refridgerators. Not exactly the Book of Job, your life.

Every Desipio poster's life is wonderful.

Even mine.

Really.

I'd throw in Nick Boynton, except that he'd get thrown back.

Would this be a good time to bring up Jeremy Morin also fucked his shoulder up in the WJC, and is out at least the rest of the tournament?
