So, Seabrook gets 5 years at 7/7/5/5/5...

My question for Chuck: given that Seabs will be in his 30s by the time he hits free agency, does this contract technically qualify as "back-loaded"?

Unless the NHLPA and the NHL have an arbitration format that effectively creates salary slotting for players in years 4, 5, and 6 with future arbitration settlements based on the actual salaries paid to players in years 4, 5, and 6 which essentially forces teams to pay lower dollar amounts in early years of multi-year contacts for non-free agency eligible players making contracts appear backloaded to deffer salary payments to when a team has a lower overall payroll when they are really structured to avoid leaps in arbitration awards, I'd say no.

Chris Campoli and a seventh round pick from Ottawa for Ryan Potulny and a second round pick.

I'll reserve judgment until I've seen a few games.

Basically an upgrade from Jordan Hendry, who is out for the year. Potulny was stuck in Rockford, and the Hawks still have 2 second rounders.

Decent trade.

I enjoyed Niklas Hjalmarsson sticking the offer sheet up Doug Wilson's ass.
