Maltin's 151 Greatest Movies You've Never Seen
« on: July 14, 2010, 10:14:55 AM »
A while back, Sweet Uncle Lou included this book in the roundup. I ordered it and added them to my queue. I'm just now starting to get them from the Netflix. Has anyone else been indulging in these? I'd post a list but it's lengthy (151, to be exact), but here's a link

Before I started getting these I had seen precisely 6 of them: Dick, The Greatest Game Ever Played (Which is one of my favorite movies), How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (Great friggin movie), Matchstick Men, One Fine Day, and Resurrecting the Champ.

Thanks to Kerm (or whoever sent the link) for this. The Animal Factory, by the way, is a pretty damn good one.

Wow. I've only seen one on that list. And it wasn't Hedwig, oddly.

I've seen three and part of another. And none were Bubba Ho-Tep, surprisingly.

I've seen Matchstick Men and it was good, not great.

So this thread title is wrong on multiple levels.

Matchstick Men was indeed good, not great. The Weather Man: also good, not great.

Idiocracy had a few moments but was otherwise disappointingly bad.

Oh, I've seen the Weather Man too. I actually laughed my ass off seeing it at the movies.
Then it was on HBO and I didn't laugh at all.

I agree about that one. It was alright, I guess.

Kinda the same thing about Forgetting Sarah Marshall, in regards to the dick scenes on that one.

The first time he got drilled in the head with a frosty, I nearly spit out my drink.

And now I just ruined the best part of the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it.

I've never seen that movie but that scene was in the previews.

It's surprisingly heartfelt for a movie about Elvis and a black man with JFK's brain battling a mummy in a retirement home.

Well, I think we can all agree that Leonard Maltin and his list can go to hell.

When he gave the MST-level Laserblast 3 stars and Blade Runner 1.5, I gave up on him.
