Is the announcement of Dan Persa out for the season with an achilles injury a big deal?

Yes.  It'll serve as the lipstick for Ron Zook's pig of a bowl team.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Well it was a nut punch to an otherwise nice day. At least his last pass was a game winner.
Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

Were Winconsin's 83 points against Indiana a significant number?

It puts a lot of pressure on the Wisconsin basketball team.

Indiana's football team lost to Penn State 2-1 today in the Big Ten semis at State College. The Hoosiers do not have any other squad playing anything resembling "football."

Illinois could very well lose to the Cats in the Ricketts Bowl next week and have their once-presumed Bowl eligibility riding on that trip to Fresno St. That will be no cakewalk, octaroons. I guess people are happy with Zook though still? Even after today's tardfest, he should keep his jorb as the all-world recruiter and let those other dipshits manage the team? Fuck it, it works for me.

Classic Zook loss today. At home, on senior day, to a winless team, with a shit ton of missed tackles and penalties to close the deal.

Fuck my goddamn gutless fucking alma mater.

For Northwestern, yeah.  One could make the argument he's more valuable to Northwestern than anyone else is to his team in the whole conference.  Watkins is 6'6 but a redshirt freshman whose only duties this season, save for a few passes, have been to hand off to RBs in a clock-killing offense.  Persa's ability to escape pressure and pick up yards on the ground will be badly missed in NU's offense.

Persa works harder than anyone else on the team and is an excellent leader, a winner.  At least Watkins has a week of practice to get ready.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

I don't know who I hate more: Zook or myself for believing maybe things had changed.

(Pause) to this entire post.

On the positive side, Purdue's really bad this year too. So IU should totally be able to not lose by 50 to them this year.

Will they have anyone left to play for the Old Oaken Bucket after Saturday's "home" game in Washington?

Who?

The team that dresses in crimson and calls themselves the "Hoosiers." They're going to "host" Penn State at FedEx Field. Cute.
