Singletary looks lost on the sideline.  He'd probably help the 49ers more if he suited up.

Mike Singletary tries out for the Memento sequel:

Reporter: What about the fourth-and-4 where you decided to punt from the 33. What was the ...

Singletary: What point in the game? I'm trying to ...

Reporter: Second half, you had the ball on the Tampa Bay 33, instead of going for the field goal you punted.

Singletary (mistaking it for the Niners' decision to go for it on fourth-and-3 in the fourth quarter): I think at that time we felt like we had a play that, if we could pick it up, that's why we went for it obviously.

Reporter (or someone in press room): No, Mike ... when you punted.

Singletary: That's when we punted. I've got to ... I'm trying to figure out exactly ... Fourth-and-4 and we decided to punt?

Reporter: Right. First possession of third quarter.

Singletary: I think, obviously, I guess we felt we wanted to pin them back and maybe having a new kicker the thought process was how about we just go ahead and try to pin it on the defense.

That looks pretty bad but with a new kicker, trying a 51-yard field goal in a game they trailed 7-0 isn't an easy choice. Still, Mike comes off like a cluesless dope every time he opens his mouth. I hate that because he has always been one of my favorite players of all-time because of his intelligence and ability to lead a defense. Here's hoping he lands softly as somebody's D-Cooridnator next season. Baylor perhaps.

I will personally take Mike house-shopping in Bloomington, IN once the 49ers fire him at the end of this season.

Why would you do that to him?

Wait, what?

You didn't consider Singletary an intelligent player? Bullshit.

So was that the general consensus on Seger? Did people just think he was a piece of trash, talentless, pandering asshole?

I would pay good money to watch Hank Williams III beat Kid Rock into pudding.

That Key Thurban performance was best watch with the sound off as well. The Cowgirls were impressive as always.

I'm not sure what Roy Williams did as a member of the Lions to earn my never-ending hatred, but that shit was fucking hilarious.

He was the ringleader and a standout in a long line of turds who made famous that whole Detroit Lions thing - where they dance around after every tackle and first down reception in the first half of any game and spend the entire second half forlornly explaining away turnovers and overall fuckups with a towel on their heads. I love that he's taken that show to the Big D where it is sorely needed and greatly received.

I endorse this observation.
