Not sure I love the LaRussaesque performance by Quade today. We might see Kerry's career end here on the mound today. Yes, I'm overreacting.

Care to elaborate for all of us working stiffs who weren't following the game?

Remember: not a meatball.

Not even a little bit.

Huey's one of 85% of the meatballs in this city who actually work for a living. The other 15% of you are relaxing in a marinara whirpool, watching the sports on your fancy Watchman.

Whatever Piniella's failings may have been last year, at least he recognized that Kevin Millar sucks.

"We like to know when we play so we know if we can stay out late the night before," Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano said Monday. "We asked him in Atlanta, 'Let us know when we play, and when we have a day off.' And he said, 'Yes,' but he never did it. That doesn't make everybody comfortable able to manager their hangovers.

Wow. A manager who liked to keep his players on their toes.  How awful that must have been.

Don't worry guys - as this team gets further and further above .500, we'll be hearing less from Computer Chuck.

Is chuck still upset that soriano goes out at night? Why is this even a topic of conversation? If soriano looked like broxton, I'd be concerned that maybe he should get in shape more, but by all accounts, Soriano is pretty fit. I've spent lots of time in bars, am pretty good at my job and have yet to tear a hammy, so I don't think the two are related - that's what my scientific study tells me.

Dennis Rodman went out til 3 AM, drank and smoked a shit-ton, then ran up and down the court out-battling some of the biggest mofo's out there for rebounds.

This is only an issue if the player going out can't handle his booze and it interferes with his job, which doesn't seem to happen with most ballplayers.  One notable exception I can think of would be Kyle Farnsworth.   I have issues with Soriano but what he does with his gazillions of dollars when he's not working doesn't really factor in to those issues.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

I'm not upset.  He can do whatever the fuck he wants.  I just would like a little more honesty about why he wants to know if he's playing or not and an understanding that posting lineups 1 day vs. 1 hour in advance should make no difference on his ability to swing at balls 2 feet outside.

Honesty?  I'd say there's very few baseball players that would be this blatantly honest in the press.

I thought about Hundley but decided he was just a post-roidal shitty ballplayer and the booze and blow had nothing to do with it, even though he was immersed in it.
