Surprisingly, Garagiola fills in for Mark Grace and his carton of Winstons on Saturday D-Back broadcasts. He did the Cubs' Saturday night win over Arizona when I was out there. Not a terrible effort. But he was a bit of a racist as a player.

Geena Davis played a catcher in "A League of Their Own".  I'd take her out.

From what I hear, you might just be able to reach her waist.

At the major league level, you block the plate, you get what you deserve. In a recreational league, someone comes in high, it's an asshole move.

Scoscia and Carter were awesome at blocking. Soto does a good job too. Compare them to Jorge Posada who sweep-tags the shit out of his position.

Brian Sabean, the Giants' GM went on radio yesterday and condemned Cousins' collision with Posey as dirty.  He threatened that the Giants would retaliate and he wants Cousins out of baseball.  It is kind of funny, since with the exception of Posey, all of the Giants interviewed have said that the hit was clean.  This includes Nate Schierholz, who the Giants have regarded as a hero for demolishing the Chinese catcher during the last Olympics.  Cousins was born in the Bay Area and lives in San Francisco.  He will have to change his name to Steve Bartman if he chooses to continue to live here.

Scott Servais, new Mariners manager.

Where you you stand indeed.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.
