Quote from: georgieDear Brad, You used to be my all time favorite, my hero, my escape. And then... You hooked up with Angelina.. No offense, but Dude.. she is , well sort of nuts... All that blood around her neck in tubes with her x's and those wierd tatoos.. Dude, we used to think you were from Missouri... I am sure she is nice and we know she is hot.. But guy, she is , well, whaco....

Quote from: georgieI know it dosnt matter what I think, but hey, I am your average ticket buyer and hey, Angelina is , whaco.. sorry, hot is not and hot is whaco and she is hot whaco dude.. sorry, I know you got a lot of kids togather but, you better cut and run while you are STILL ALIVE.. even her dad thinks she is psycho..

Quote from: WarrenBrad Pitt is the worse actor I have ever witnessed with the same monotone voice and expressions in every movie he has ever done, in any movies Brad has been in that has done well, it has been the other actors who scored the movie. Jack Black can act. He is so funny and can really make a movie come to life. School of Rock, Rocks!

Quote from: JohnRI wonder what Angelina thinks of Brad playing an out of the closet homosexual?

Quote from: IrisTBrad Pitt makes me sick. He and his hoochie/momma Angeline...YUK. This is a woman that says she HATES Thanksgiving, and says it is a useless holiday. What A LOON. Neither of these can compare with Sandra Bullock....no way.....!!!!!!!!

Quote from: queersYuck! Another baseball movie? Really? Put it on cable.

INTERNET!

Jack Black and Thanksgiving = awesome. Been saying this for years.

They can just get SKO if they want to stay under budget.

Or if they're going for the I Am Sam effect

I actually enjoyed this.  How much of that is a credit to the movie, and how much is a credit to setting expectations low is hard to say.  The baseball sequences are well done but a small part of the movie.  The dialogue is way more natural than the trailer made it seem.  This is worth seeing.  And if you love Carlos Pena and Mike Quade sightings, it's a MUST-SEE.

Chris Pratt ("Parks and Recreation") is excellent as Scott Hatteberg.

An accomplishment for an Aaron Sorkin project, no?
This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

Agree with previous posts, this movie is good. I know the foundation of the movie was in making Beane/Depodesta out to be revolutionaries, but it wouldn't have hurt to mention that the A's had some stellar talent on that team that won 20 straight.
If I were scott hatteberg, I'd be hitting the playboy mansion every week, this movie is going to make him a hero. Art howe, apparently isn't a big fan of this movie, especially because of the unathletic build of philip seymour hoffman.

I don't recall that.  Did he play the anthem?
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Yep. It's a good thing the movie took place in 1992 or it might have been Chickenfoot.

This is not a spoiler, since we all know how it all turned out.  The script at the end of the movie talks about the fact that Beane turned down an offer from the Red Sox, but then the Red Sox went on to win the World Series applying principles initisigated by Beane in Oakland.  Er...Pardon me.   Isn't that the same Boston that had the payroll that challenged the Yankees for being the highest?

Can't it be both?  It's more about exploiting market inefficiencies than frugalness.
