So did Northwestern end up losing to Army? That wasn't looking real promising. There was an Ellen Page lookalike stressing about it all by herself at Sheffield's. I wanted to stand by and console her with calm football logic but it was half-past party time and the Pex had to dip.

Hope she's doing ok.

EDIT: Black Nights 21, E.P. Doppelgangs 14.

:(

ELLEN PAGE DOPPELGANGERS HATE THE TROOPS!

Indeed. She yelled fumble every time a NW player went for a strip. She needed some help. I'm guessing she got it from somewhere.

I'm guessing... not from there.
I don't get that KurtEvans photoshop.

Illinois is 4-0 for the first time since 1951. They still may not be all that good (except that front seven looks pretty damn stout and they are averaging almost 250 yards rushing per game), but I'm sure as hell not going to care when they're playing a January 1st bowl game.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

First 5-0 start for Illinois in 60 years. Not that they're necessarily any good, but it's nice that AJ Jenkins is 3rd in the nation in receiving yards and just put up too sitty ate on a bunch of nerds who can't even have a simple drilldo/buttspray demonstration in the classroom without running home with the howling fantods to mother and father.

It was a hell of a fun game to watch. Looked like neither team wanted to win and in the end the Zooker prevailed. He's such a dope but I guess as long as you're not a Florida fan he's somewhat of a lovable dope.

It's easy to love the Zooker now that the coordinators are doing all of the heavy lifting.

I wonder who Northwestern won't be able to stop next year.

This. For now I'm fine with keeping the Zooker thanks to his recruiting skills, but the second Paul Petrino starts talking about taking a head job somewhere you can Zook and give Paul his promotion, because he and Koening are the whole reason for this turnaround. Zook's recruits are actually getting Coached for the first time in his tenure. I can only imagine what these people would have managed to get out of Juice, Mendenhall, and Benn had they had the chance.

Well the dream of an undefeated season has died. Zook's dumbass moves (you know you've got a dumb coach when Bob Davie is astutely pointing out the miscues as they happen) didn't lose the game for them, but that doesn't make them any less dumb. Bad game for Steelhorse.

3-2 the rest of the way (9-3 total) should get them a New Year's Day bowl in Florida, right? Which means they'll go 1-4 and go to the Buttslop Bowl in Northwest Indiana.

Hey, Elkhart's kinda nice in late December. I hear the Buttslop Bowl added a cow-tipping contest to their bowl week activities too.
