So did Northwestern end up losing to Army? That wasn't looking real promising. There was an Ellen Page lookalike stressing about it all by herself at Sheffield's. I wanted to stand by and console her with calm football logic but it was half-past party time and the Pex had to dip.

Hope she's doing ok.

Illinois is 4-0 for the first time since 1951. They still may not be all that good (except that front seven looks pretty damn stout and they are averaging almost 250 yards rushing per game), but I'm sure as hell not going to care when they're playing a January 1st bowl game.

It was a hell of a fun game to watch. Looked like neither team wanted to win and in the end the Zooker prevailed. He's such a dope but I guess as long as you're not a Florida fan he's somewhat of a lovable dope.

For now I'm fine with keeping the Zooker thanks to his recruiting skills, but the second Paul Petrino starts talking about taking a head job somewhere you can Zook and give Paul his promotion, because he and Koening are the whole reason for this turnaround. Zook's recruits are actually getting Coached for the first time in his tenure. I can only imagine what these people would have managed to get out of Juice, Mendenhall, and Benn had they had the chance.

Well the dream of an undefeated season has died. Zook's dumbass moves (you know you've got a dumb coach when Bob Davie is astutely pointing out the miscues as they happen) didn't lose the game for them, but that doesn't make them any less dumb. Bad game for Steelhorse.
