I mean, the NCAA doesn't really have any explicit rules against programs covering up child rape occurring in their showers does it?

Considering the NCAA's track record with big programs, I feel better that real police and prosecutors are handling this.

Regarding the NCAA, it would be a first for that organization to suspend a college football coach without a rules violation. Since it usually takes the NCAA at least a few months to investigate and then punish, there's really nothing the NCAA can do unless it establishes a new precedent.

So, that leaves the situation in the hands of either the Penn State Board of Trustees or Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany. The BOT seems unwilling to fire Paterno, so that leaves Delany. This situation has been harmful to the conference and only will continue to get worse. I think Delany's best course of action is to contact the BOT and say "Either fire Paterno, or he's suspended indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the conference"... If the BOT doesn't do anything by the end of the day tomorrow, announce the suspension and then someone finally will show some leadership in this mess.

That's what I don't get, and the question near the end about why Curley and McQueary are still employed WAS appropriate (Some of the others, um, not at all). If you are going to clean house, then clean house. Don't just push two hairballs (Admittedly big ones) into the trash can while the rest of the room stays dirty.
