St. Louis's dumb mayor pens an awful op-ed telling everyone how great St. Louis is, because Jon Hamm had the misfortune of growing up there and businesspeople exist who weren't successful until they moved to San Francisco.  There's also an enjoyable takedown from DREW MAGARY that has the advantage of not making you read the actual piece.

I go back and forth on Magary but this made my year.

I know Magary has a bit of a schtick, but damn if I don't enjoy it about 99% of the time.

yeah, it's the same formula every time, and sometimes he just fires at the wrong target, but I like him overall. He also is more than willing to poke shit at himself and he's not thin-skinned, so that does make him better than about 98% of all interweb talking heads.

I'm a fan, for sure.

Well in non-meme world I'm 26 and I've been married for 2 1/2 years. The wife and I have discussed the possibility of reproducing, yes.

My childhood best friend is a die-hard Cardinals fan and I'm so extremely jealous of his fan experience over the last decade. He's struck a nice balance of knowing how good he has it and also (mostly) understanding why people think the Cardinals are loathsome.

They do exist. I don't feel bad for them at all but it is cool knowing if/when the Cubs get good and have to face the Cards in a series (I hope this happens, I may die but I hope it happens anyway) that the majority of the country would be rooting along with us. At least until the Cubs win one. Then they can hate us like Boston.

The Cards have never had that - at least not in the second screen era where people are watching interactively.
