I'm not going to go so far as suggest that the merciless (and justified) beating that Todd Hundely endured disproves that the fans were racist but we sure didn't spare that worthless drunk any vitriol.  He was not only white, but a LOCAL GUY whose dad was a beloved player on a beloved team. 

Also Derrek Lee was beloved.

Right. To deny the Cubs have racist fans is dumb, but nobody hated LaTroy because he was black, they just made sure to point out that he was black while yelling at him for blowing saves.
