From Rasmussen daily tracking, nation-wide preference for GOP voters:

QuoteSantorum leads with with 39%, followed by Mitt Romney at 27%, Newt Gingrich at 15% and Ron Paul at 10%.

Wow.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/archive/election_2012_archive/january_20122/national_poll_gingrich_35_romney_28_santorum_16_paul_10

QuoteNational Poll: Gingrich 35%, Romney 28%, Santorum 16%, Paul 10%

After his game-changing win in South Carolina, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich continues to ride his surge to the front of the pack among likely Republican primary voters nationwide. He now leads Mitt Romney by seven points.

Wow.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/rasmussen-cain-26-romney-23-gingrich-14_607724.html

QuoteA new national poll of 1,000 likely GOP primary voters from Rasmussen gives Herman Cain a slight lead at 26 percent, with Romney close behind at 23 percent and Gingrich in third at 14 percent. The remaining Republican candidates all received less than 10 percent. Only 32 percent of those polled, however, considered themselves "firmly committed" to their preferred candidate.

Wow.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012/election_2012_presidential_election/gop_primary_perry_29_romney_18_bachmann_13

QuoteGOP Primary: Perry 29%, Romney 18%, Bachmann 13%

Texas Governor Rick Perry, the new face in the race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, has jumped to a double-digit lead over Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann with the other announced candidates trailing even further behind.

Wow.

I think what Tank means is these people are all a bunch of fickle mush-heads.

If someone named Mushhead were to enter the race today, he/she/it would probably be in the lead in next week's poll.
If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)

I'm having hell of time masturbating to this.

It's kind of maybe NSFW (depending on your eyesight), and certainly the least surprising something something since something else, but I can't stop laughing at this right now.

You know, I only caught the final question on this debate, and three out of four ignored the question itself. Paul, on the other hand, managed to just get it wrong.

Was the question about abortion or same sechs marriages? Because any other topic isn't worth discussing.

LOCK OF THE WEEK!!

Arizona GOP Primary, 2012

1. Romney
2. Santorum
3. Gingrinch
4. Paul

Michigan GOP Primary, 2012

1. Santorum (<1%)
2. Romney
3. Gingrinch
4. Paul
This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

My desire for Santorum to win this is conflicting with my desire for Gil to be wrong.

As much shit as I give them, I have to admit that the GOP primary probably wouldn't appear to be nearly as big of a clusterfuck trainwreck as it now does without an assist from the media's need for instant big picture analysis at every single turn.

Had Santorum won Michigan tonight, I'm sure we would have heard all about how everything was going from bad to worse for Mitt.

"Romney needed to win both states, but especially Michigan..."

But Romney won. And, in the end, those 3-4 extra delegates will have made all the difference...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/mitt-romney-in-michigan-arizona-just-win-baby/2012/02/28/gIQA5vYFhR_blog.html

QuoteIn politics, winning isn't everything, it's the only thing. The score sheet only shows "W's" and "L's"...

...

But, winning is winning. And when Romney needed to win — a loss in Michigan would have crippled his campaign beyond repair (or close to it) — he did.

...

Romney's victories on Tuesday night aren't determinative. The fight for the Republican nomination will go on. But, the alternative would have either ended his campaign or forced a top-to-bottom overhaul as he sought to show that he knew change was needed.

When we look back in the history books, all it will say is that Romney won Michigan and Arizona. And that's the best he and his team could have hoped for Tuesday night.

All he does is win.

Holy shit, Chris Cillizza. How does it feel to be the Skip Bayless of politics?
